Let’s start with today and work our way back to our beginning.
As of 2009, we are 36 years young! We are still growing and changing to match the needs and wishes of our customers.

You told us you want products that outlast the discount store “throw away” models of vacuums and you also want a really good deal, so that is our mission! We also recognized the high level of demand for ways to get cleaner air, fewer toxins and better performance out of every appliance in the American home, and we have answers to those challenges too!

We have three employees: Gale Eichhorst-Owner, Kirk Marble-Owner/Sales and Nate Arndt-Service Technician/Sales.

Better HouseKeeping Vacuums on Front Street in Mankato was founded in 1973 as a service center for Kirby vacuums. By the way, we still service lots of Kirby vacuums! During the early years, our customers let us know the brands they would like to be able to buy from us and we continued to build on those requests. Some of the early brands of vacuums we carried were Hoover, Eureka, Panasonic, Royal, Dirt Devil, and Sanyo.

Times changed and so did the vacuum industry. In 1987 we added the Riccar line of vacuums which today is our main, and most popular, line of vacuums. Today our showroom floor features select brands such as:
